House sparrow populations have declined sharply in recent years, partly due to a lack of natural nest cavities. So putting up one (or ideally more) of these excellent nest boxes will help to redress the balance.                                                      
The inside of the box is divided into 3 terraced compartments, as sparrows are sociable birds and like to nest in colonies.  
Position the box at least 2 metres off the ground with the entrance hole facing north-east, sheltered from prevailing wind and rain and well away from your bird feeders and other nest boxes.                                                                                      
Remember to clean out your nest boxes between early September and late January.
