About Us

Welcome to Rivelin Wild Bird Food

We make our own range of high quality wild bird feed mixes, here in Sheffield, to our own tried and tested specification. The emphasis is on good quality ingredients, to ensure the birds are getting plenty of nutrition and energy, from what is now an important supplementary source of food. Wild birds expend a lot of valuable energy just searching for food, so the better quality the feed, the less they’ll need to search for, to keep going.

We also sell individual ingredients plus a large range of fat/suet products, mealworms, bird feeders, tables, nest boxes, bird baths and a whole range of other products for birds and other wildlife. As with our mixes, the emphasis is on quality and suitability for purpose.

We deliver all over the Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, Chesterfield and NE Derbyshire areas, with our own dedicated van and driver. We also deliver nationwide (GB Mainland only) via our apppointed courier.

Our local customers can also benefit from our unique packaging-free delivery service, if they choose that option. We will deliver your feeds loose, to top up your containers at home. There is no extra charge for this service and means you can have a completely packaging-free purchase. It's been really well received by our customers and many have now made the switch.

How did we start off?

Needing a fresh challenge after 20 years in the construction industry, Steve realised it would be a natural progression for him to start making and selling his own range of wild bird feeds! But of course, this wasn't an entirely random move. Steve grew up on the family farm where his love of birdlife and nature in general was forged. He also remembers, as a young lad, helping his dad mix animal feeds, which he always found a strangely enjoyable and satisfying job. Some years later and then living in the Rivelin Valley, he thought back to those days for inspiration and, spotting a gap in the local market, realised exactly what his new business venture needed to be.
