This is the larvae of the Black Soldier Fly and provides a rich source of protein and calcium. They have very similar qualities to dried mealworms, but are slightly chunkier in appearance. Great for birds in their nesting or moulting seasons.

How to feed them: Best served on a bird table or ground feeder, but can be served in a tube feeder as part of a seed mix.

Ideally, during the nesting season, soak them for a few minutes in warm water, to make them easier for birds and their fledglings to eat and to provide a much-needed source of moisture, often lacking in many feeds.
